The Curious Yogi: Finding Your Unique Path to Fulfillment
Designed for the seekers in the world, this membership invites you into a journey of living your best life. Using the insights of Ayurvedic medicine and Yoga philosophies, The Curious Yogi explores topics ranging from chakras to ancient texts to the food you choose to eat. This is a journey through the richness of Yoga philosophy & practice to help you weather the storms of life, understand yourself better & get clarity around your purpose, stressors & true strengths.
Are You A Curious Yogi?
If you are here, then the answer is likely, yes. Here is my hope for this experience:
“A deep dive into intentional connections within ourselves and our communities. A fostering of compassionate mirrors through which to see ourselves and our greatest strengths.
A landing into our feet, consciously walking this path we were born to walk.
The Curious Yogi acknowledges the web of connection between us all, self, others and the earth through the lens of yogic philosophies.
Through this connection we find our true voice, our right action and our next step in creating the world we want to see.”
You Are Right On Time…
Following the pattern of the ayurvedic 3-season year, this membership offers participants the opportunity to know themselves better through the lens of yoga philosophy and its sister science of Ayurveda. Through the dark days of winter, we will explore and prepare for the rising of the Kapha Dosha (earth and water); in spring we will prepare for Pitta Dosha (fire and water), and finally, in the autumn months we will batten down the hatches for Vata Dosha (air and ether).
Through each module, there will be opportunities to explore how the elements affect our relationships with ourselves, others and even the world around us. You will learn strategies to avoid imbalance and disease by managing these elements in daily practices, food choices and sense therapies. There will be conversations about chakras and meridians; right action and karma; and language that will illuminate behaviours in helpful ways.
There will be opportunities for you to share in a ‘book club’ style to encourage you toward helpful habits and peer support for success. All in all though, what matters most is that you will come away with a greater compassion for you and maybe even a little more love for who you are and where you are on your path. You are right on time.
Exploring the Pitta Dosha: Vision & Purpose
May through July
Everything has a negative and a positive energy to it. All actions cause a reaction. Life is about joy and despair. Like two ends of a teeter-totter we can be tossed around or we can find the floating stable fulcrum and observe as opposed to embroil.
The pitta dosha, containing both fire and water, can speak to our passions and our rage but is especially fruitful when honing our skills of discernment. Fire allows us to see, to digest and process.
Using the Bhagavad Gita as our central text, this module of the Curious Yogi asks “what is my right action? What truly is my dharma?” As a lifelong entrepreneur, I am often a kilometer ahead of myself and so my lessons are often around contentment. Can I feel good about where I am right now, even if I don’t get any farther?
This is about understanding our inner solar power and how to use it effectively so that we don’t get burned or burned out. It is about living a life where we actively seek out alternatives to violence and destruction, like collaboration and mindfulness. The solar plexus and heart chakra will be our guiding energies as we seek the power of steam, the joining of water and fire.
This module will fan your intellectual fire to see yourself with clarity and compassion while firmly setting your gear into drive and moving you forward in your purpose.

As the winds of autumn rise, so does our vata energy, bringing the potential for creativity, spirituality but also anxiety and instability. In this module of the Curious Yogi we will explore the upper three chakras and our master meridian, the Sushumna, which mirrors our physical central nervous system.
The sushumna is like the circuit breaker of our house where all chakras get their power. Tending this meridian sets us up to have greater power from within flowing through the channels of our systems. The energy of this module is of devotion and expression, the throat, the intuitive mind and our connection to spirit. Using soft moonlight and gentle presence, we will care for our spirits and our mental health.
This module will give you tools to harness your own internal wind, leaving you able to manage anxiety and ungroundedness in new and profound ways. Where once you may have felt hijacked by your fears, this program will ask you to look under the bed and befriend those inner demons. All they need is a little loving kindness and some stern direction!
Best of all, because this module focuses on our divine upper chakras, you will be inspired by Divine action and presence in your life.

Kapha brings with it childlike wonder and the potential for loving playfulness and yet can default to lethargy and even depression when not properly maintained or understood.
In this module we will use the first two chakras, that of earth and water, to explore foundation, grounding and stability. We will focus on the rejuvenation of our adrenals and our resilience in general as kapha offers us the opportunity of starting again, with both feet firmly planted in the soil.
You will be experiencing practices that encourage devotion to you and your well-being, harnessing the discipline to follow through because you matter. Routines build strength and well-being and must also be offset by some good hardy play. Let your inner child awaken and guide you toward your next chapter.

Meet Your Membership Facilitator, Allie Chisholm-Smith
Throughout my two decades of teaching Yoga, doing Yoga Massage, Reiki and constant studies in Ayurveda, I encourage people to find self-knowledge and power from within.
My teaching spans from Restorative as deep central nervous system calming, to vigorous explorations into fascial structure and ways of being.
I have been running transformative Yoga Teacher Training programs for well over a decade and readily admit that the study that this requires of me and the gift of witnessing so many students blossom, may be a favourite part of my job.
I earned a Master’s degree examining the ways in which our definition of power determines our ability to establish healthy relationships with self, others and the earth.
As with Ayurveda, I believe that as we study ourselves, we heal ourselves. As we heal ourselves, we heal the earth.
What It’s Like to Work With Allie…
“I often crave the energy Allie welcomes and creates within her classes as it is so deep and beautiful. Allie has an incredible gift to attune to a class and nurture everyone in it. With her inspired words that help each individual go deeper into their process of discovery and intention, she holds a sacred space for the energy of the class and each person within it.”
— Courtney S.
“Allie's intuition and ability to hold space for deep energetic healing and discovery was very helpful for me. While it's been decades since I had a session with her I still remember how profound it was to attune to my body and energy systems with Allie as my guide. Her steady, grounded, compassionate presence allowed me to discover areas which needed healing and release and together we compassionately witnessed and allowed the messages of my body to unfold. I would not have been able to do this if Allie had not been so trustworthy and full of integrity. I am grateful.”
— Aynsley S.
“Allie has the unique ability to help you see things in yourself that you may not recognize otherwise. She has made staying connected easy and personal all while going through the same vortex we all came through.”
— Catherine P.
